Highlights - World renowned sandy beach location, a must see! Also has walking tracks from the southern end.

Reef - South Whitehaven Beach has some reef off the beach however is not suitable for snorkelling due to the marine traffic.

Fishing - Green Zone, no fishing

Camping - The dazzling white, pure silica sands of Whitehaven Beach are one of the best known Whitsunday drawcards. Camp sites are nestled among lowland vine forest and eucalyptus woodland behind the beach. The camp ground can take up to 36 people. There is access through to the quieter Chance Bay via a 45min walking trail. 

Camping Permits are required to be booked in advance. No Open Fires are allowed within National Parks

Walking Trails - Moderate walking trail through secluded forest's of Whitsunday Island, which is 7.2km return Whitehaven Beach to Chance Bay.
